Understanding Joint Injections

Joint injections deliver therapeutic substances directly into the joint space. Depending on your condition, this may include hyaluronic acid (viscosupplementation) or other medications. Dr. Buchheit's team uses ultrasound guidance for precise placement.

Quick & Convenient

Joint injections are quick office procedures with minimal preparation. Most patients can resume normal activities later the same day, with just some brief rest recommended for the treated joint.

  • Continue most medications — as prescribed
  • Wear comfortable clothing — easy access to the joint

What's Normal After Joint Injection

Mild soreness, swelling, or warmth at the injection site is common and usually resolves in 1-2 days. Some patients experience a temporary "flare" before improvement. Contact us if you have fever, severe pain, or redness spreading from the injection site.
